Hipstamatics are a party band with a difference.
They take iconic well known tunes and reinterpret them into an authentic vintage soul/funk style.
Elements of Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin and James Brown are evident in the sound.

Comprising three lead vocals and a horn section this 9 piece band will surely get a party started.

Dillon "the Rooster" Riesterer - Vocals
Dillon is the Hipstamatics frontman, and as a jack-of-all-trades musician can be seen singing lead, playing keys and percussion with the band.

Victor Hawkins-Sulfa - Vocals
Victor Hawkins-Sulfa was born singing. Naturally introverted, he was encouraged to sing publicly at age 15 igniting his love of the art. Victor credits his development to this encouragement, honoring this by aspiring to greatness.

His work includes featuring on J Williams" track "Beautiful"(Young Love), co-writing The Chinga Styles (64D " Mc Yoyo"s) single "Let me show you", Sola Rosa"s "Misunderstood" and as a vocalist/vocal arranger for artists such as Grace Ikenasio, Bex Nabouta (Sassy and the Pocketbook), Vivah, Chinga Style (64D) and L.A Mitchell.

Thabani Gapara - Saxophone
Zimbabwean born and raised saxophonist Thabani was introduced to the saxophone at age 17 and has been playing since. Testimonials

This band is truly a crowd pleaser. The best feedback I’ve received from any band so far, we’d be happy to have these guys back again!

— Sky City , Queenstown

I thoroughly recommend Hipstamatics for weddings and events. They were very professional and easy to work with at the wedding.  Punctual, well organized and came to inspect the Venue before the event. They set up in plenty of time and sound checked, ready to go, well ahead of schedule.  The band was a huge hit with the all the guests, everyone hit the dancefloor and stayed there all night!

Professional, on time, polite and sounded fantastic. Hipstamatics just blew us all away. Recommend them to anyone!

— Anon, Jansen Pro Audio

Hipstamatics embrace the current vogue of funking up pop and soul covers from ‘Creep’ and ‘Misty Frequencies’ to ‘Hotel California’. With two male vocalists and one female vocalist they have a knack of creating arrangements that surprise, and in cases surpass, the originals. They have taken the Otis Redding trashing of the Beatles’ ‘Day Tripper’ and made it work and their take on Curtis Mayfield’s ‘Move On Up’ adds a cool vocal twist.

— Anon, Rip It Up Magazine

The Hipstamatics were outstanding! Everyone loved them and they had everyone getting up on the dance floor (which is rare for a Gala dinner!). Dillon was extremely easy to communicate with and exceeded all of our clients' expectations. If the venue wasn't closing we would had to of had an encore. Thanks again, Georgie.
